Landscape

Landscape Architecture was first termed by George Laing Meason in 1828.  While the concept of creating lavish gardens was not new, what inspired Meason was how the designed landscape relates to its architectural surroundings.  Meason also looked to Vitruvius’ Ten Books of Architecture to discover and expound upon the principles that are fundamental to harmonizing the created form with the natural form.  One of which was that architecture is an imitation of nature, but perhaps the most poignant of Vitruvius’ assertions was that a creation must exhibit three qualities, it must be solid, useful, and beautiful.

At Gyori Development Corporation, congruity between the created form and the natural form is an essential component to every project that we create.  Paramount though, to the inspiration for each landscape, is our legacy, and the legacy of our clients. Therefore, each landscape that we bring into being is a confluence of knowledge, expertise, and vision.  Our Landscape Division is unrivaled at creating landscapes that mirror the serene qualities of the natural environment, as well as unifying the landscaped space with the architectural space to produce a groundbreaking masterpiece that inspires awe.  Thus, whether the landscape is a homage to nature, or an avant-garde statement, Gyori Development Corporation is unsurpassed at realizing it.
