Concrete

Concrete is the most frequently used material in the building industry today.  Used throughout history in multifarious forms, it was the Romans who saw the innate malleability of concrete as a catalyst for building infinite designs.  Whether they were building walls, aqueducts, libraries, villas, or temples, opus caementicium was the medium that made it possible.  The Pantheon, in Rome, completed by Emperor Hadrian, is a perfect illustration of the strength, permanence, and adaptability of concrete.   Ubiquitous in the former Roman Empire are enduring projects that have become the legacy of Rome.  While the nature of the concrete that is used today differs from the opus caementicium of the Romans, the ability to leave a legacy utilizing concrete is unchanged.
